Pastoral Care

At John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School, Middle School students belong to two main groups - a House and a Pastoral Care Group. The main organisational group for students is the House and the Middle School House Coordinators have overall responsibility for the management of the students within each House.
Within each Middle School House, students are assigned to one of six Pastoral Care Groups and are placed under the care of a Pastoral Care Group (PCG) tutor. The PCG tutor takes a particular interest in the welfare and academic progress of students in their care. The Pastoral Care System is designed to ensure that the transition from Primary to a Middle School setting is as smooth and enjoyable as possible.
Pastoral Care Groups (PCGs) across years 7, 8 and 9 are staffed by the middle school team teachers. The current staff/student ratio of 1:24 is implemented across all PCGs across years 7 to 12. Year 7 PCGs are currently staffed at a 1:32 ratio.
