Co-curricular Activities in the Primary School
Music
Musical students may play in the Junior Concert Band, sing in a choir or join one of the primary school rock bands. Peripatetic music teachers also teach a wide range of musical instruments and instruments are available for hire.
Sports
As well as a full programme of interhouse and interschool competition in swimming, athletics and crosscountry, the school fields interschool teams in Netta, Junior Netball, Netball, Flagbelt Rugby and T Ball.
Drama & Dance
Dance and drama are very popular co-curricular activities and the primary school involves many students in acting, back stage management and set and prop construction in the productions they undertake.
Community Service
There is an emphasis on community service in the primary school; the annual lapathon raises approximately $15,000 each year for overseas missions; they support two World Vision children and regularly contribute food and money to Anglicare. The 2009 Easter raffle raised over $3,000 for Anglicare.
School Values
John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School is a school of The Anglican Schools Commission with a mission to build a Christian community of learners, to provide a quality educational experience, and to nurture the whole person in the three dimensions of mind, body and spirit.
