Champion Schools Sport

John Septimus Roe students compete in the Champion Schools Competition in various sports, such as boys and girls basketball, cricket, boys and girls football, boys and girls soccer, netball, badminton and baseball and we also attend an Inclusive Sports Day for our Special Needs students. Students often train once a week to develop their tactics and strategies unique to their team and commitment to the team from our students means we can field a strong team every time. We compete against various Government and Private schools in our local area and have produced some outstanding results in these teams over the last few years. Students also have the opportunity to try out for various ACC representative teams which play against Government School representative teams. Further on, there are also many opportunities for our students to try out for State and National teams in a wide range of sports and this is actively promoted by the Health and Physical Education Department.
