Dance is celebrated at JSR through a variety of performance based experiences catering for all ages and levels. The co-curricular program provides each student with the opportunity to progress in their technique, develop confidence and enrich and enhance creativity.
Within the program students also have the opportunity to get to know like-minded peers and develop new friendships through the various clubs on offer.
Activities on offer include:
Within Dance Club students participate in rehearsals once a week culminating in a number of performances throughout the year including Dance Night and Choreography Night and Family Fun Day. Middle School Dance Club is for students in years 7-9 and Senior School Dance Club for students in years 10-12.
Dance Night is a fun evening showcasing skills and routines learnt in class and Dance Club. Students who participate in Dance Club are encouraged to perform and is an enjoyable night for all involved.
Choreography Night is the biggest event in the Dance calendar. Within this program students are able to audition for a number of Year 12 student choreographers. Once selected into a piece, they rehearse each week culminating in the performance season in Term 3.
