DIY Science is a club based on STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). The work consists of projects that the students work on collaboratively, to solve problems or create new designs. The current project is titled “Print-a-car” in which students are designing a car, to certain specifications, which they will then print out using our new 3-D printers and put together. The completed cars will then be raced on a track to determine the best design. This project is loosely based on the international Formula One challenge, in which students design, build and race cars. It is hoping that some students might be inspired to take on that challenge in the next few years.
