This year, the Health and Physical Education Department, in conjunction with Tuart Hill Swimming Club, have started a Social Swimming Club for students in years 4-12 at John Septimus Roe ACS. Primary students currently swim one morning a week and Secondary Students swim twice a week. Students are encouraged to attend all sessions provided and improve their fitness and technique in the programme. The benefits that can be gained by attending the Swimming Club training include: – Personal fitness gains for general health and well being. – Mental health enhancement – concentration, self esteem, reduced stress, etc. – Better cardio-respiratory endurance for weekend sport. – Training for improved performance in the School Swimming Carnival and the Interschool Swimming Carnival.
