Enrolling at JSR

We understand choosing the right school is one of the most important investments you will make for your child.

With that in mind, we have made joining our learning community as streamlined as possible. From booking a tour to explore our school to registering your interest in enrolling, booking an interview and completing the Application Form, you can complete it all online.

We are excited that you are interested in joining John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School and becoming part of our diverse learning community.

Enrolments are open year-round; however, we suggest that you enrol before August to secure your place for the following year.

Enrolments are open for 2024 and beyond.

Please note that some year groups are limited. Should you wish to enrol your child, please be aware that you may be placed on a waitlist.

Please don’t hesitate to contact the Enrolments Office on 9247 2242 or [email protected]

How to Enrol

We encourage parents to register their interest in enrolment for their children two years prior to their entry year.

A non-refundable $40 registration fee is payable when you submit a registration form.

Please also be aware that lodging a Registration of Interest form does not guarantee an offer.

It registers your interest in a possible position and places the student on a progressive waitlist.

**PLEASE NOTE:

If you are not an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia you will need to provide details of your Temporary Visa Class.

For further information please visit the International Student page.

How to Apply:

  • Upload the following relevant documentation for your child/children, including:

Step Three -
Interview

Prior to entry, families are invited to attend an enrollment interview with our Principal or the Principal’s nominee.

In general, interviews are offered based on the availability of a place in the desired year of entry.

Places are then offered at the Principal’s discretion.

As the number of applications can exceed the number of places available, therefore applicants will remain on the database of prospective students until a place becomes available or until the application is withdrawn.

Step Four -
Offer and Acceptance

If the application and interview are successful, families will be offered a placement and asked to complete an Application Form (Offer of Enrolment Form).

Upon completion of the form,  a non-refundable Acceptance Fee is payable to confirm the family’s commitment to take up the offered position. The fee is not deducted from the first term’s tuition fee.

The enrolment is not complete until the form has been returned and the acceptance fee has been paid.

Step Five -
Commencement

Once the Acceptance Fee is paid you will be notified of your child’s orientation day, commencement date, booklist and other relevant details in the term prior to commencing at JSRACS.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. The Acceptance Fee is a non-refundable payment that represents confirmation by the of the Acceptance of an Offer at JSRACS.

The Pre-Kindergarten Program is only available to students who have enrolled to attend Kindergarten at JSRACS.

Regulations prevent us from enrolling a child until after they have turned 3 years old, and the child’s birthday must occur before 30 June in the year of the child’s attendance at Pre-Kindergarten.  Some conditions apply, including the child being able to toilet themselves, with support available through the Pre-Kindergarten staff.

Our waitlist priority is based on the date order of which applications are received. There are some exceptions to this rule as siblings of current students are given first priority.

Please note places are offered subject to availability in the year requested. Therefore we encourage families to lodge their Application as soon as they feel comfortable with JSRACS as their school of choice.

Applications are open to students of all cultures and religions.  Our School embraces our diversity and respects the views, values and traditions of others.  We are fortunate that our school offers many opportunities to understand and share in understanding our vibrant diversity of cultures with Religion and Values included within the core curriculum.

Our major intakes are in KG and Y7.

  • Interviews for KG are conducted during the first Semester of the year prior to entry
  • Interviews for Y7 are conducted during the first Semester, 2 years prior to entry.
  • Not all children on the waitlist are interviewed; we only interview enough students to fill the positions available.
  • All acceptances (of non-siblings) to the school are subject to a satisfactory interview with the Principal.

JSRACS offers five scholarships for students currently attending a school other than JSRACS.

All Community Scholarships are open to applicants in January and close at the end of Term 1.

Academic Scholarships close at the end of February prior to testing in March.

Basketball Scholarships close at the end of May prior to trials being held in June.
