Why Choose JSRACS?

LOOKING BEYOND THE ORDINARY

Why Choose JSRACS?

JSRACS is dynamic co-educational Anglican School located in Mirrabooka, approximately 10km from the Perth CBD. We offer a broad, high-quality education to students from diverse backgrounds. We embrace the educational challenges and opportunities of the future, as each student is encouraged to explore their spiritual, intellectual, social, physical and creative capacities.

We value the individuality of all our community members and cultivate a global perspective that all may seek the best of the human spirit in themselves and others.

Our Future

One Campus, One Community

From 2023, John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School (JSRACS) will become a single campus school, with all students based at the Mirrabooka, Pre Kindy to Year 12, campus.

While it is a big change, it is a decision taken in the best interests of our students and the future sustainability of our school.

New classrooms and facilities will be planned and built over the next two years. With a dedicated Early Learning Centre being built for our Pre Kindy and Kindy students and a state of the art Learning Centre for our Year 9 and 10 students.

John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School will continue to be a dynamic, Christian community that offers a broad, high-quality education to students from diverse backgrounds. We embrace the educational challenges and opportunities of the future, where each student will be encouraged to explore their spiritual, intellectual, social, physical and creative capacities. We value the individuality of all community members and cultivate a global perspective that all may seek the best of the human spirit in themselves and others.

We acknowledge that education is dynamic and continually evolving, and as such, JSRACS desires to prepare its students for success in an ever-changing world through the implementation of relevant and responsive educational opportunities, ensuring the growth of our students and our community.

"Our aspiration is for JSRACS students
to be architects of their lives..."

Our History

Two Campuses, One School

The John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School dual campus journey school began in 1990 and in a relatively short period of time it has become a dynamic, vibrant and innovative community of learners at both the Beechboro and Mirrabooka campuses.

In 1989 the State Government approached the Anglican Schools Commission (ASC) with the proposition that it acquire the Northside Christian School located in Beechboro. At the time Northside was an independent, parent-run Pre-primary to Year 12 school which had, unfortunately, run into financial difficulties.

The ASC took the bold step of taking on the land, buildings and student body and continued to provide a Christian education for families in the area. As part of its mission to provide a low fee option for parents seeking an education in the Anglican tradition for their children, the ASC had already secured a site at Mirrabooka. It was from this point on that the link between the schools at Beechboro and Mirrabooka was forged.

In 1990, the Northside Christian School became the Northside Anglican Community School then Thomas Scott Anglican Community School. Then in 1992, with the opening of the first stage of the Mirrabooka Campus, the secondary classes from the newly named Thomas Scott Anglican Community School transferred to the new campus in Mirrabooka

.

In the early days, the two schools had one Administration and School Council but had separate Parents and Friends Associations and two different cultural identities. It took until 1996 to formally merge the Parents and Friends Associations and promote the concept of “two campuses, one school”. As part of the unification the decision was made to drop the name Thomas Scott Campus and to refer to each campus of John Septimus Roe Anglican Community School by its locality.

As we continue our evolution, our vision remains the same, to provide a diverse community of Faith, Hope and Love, where students seek the best of the human spirit in themselves and others.
