Year 8 Steampunk Robots

The Year 8 art students have been investigating Steampunk as a basis for making a Steampunk robot.  Steampunk is an art movement inspired by 19th-century industrial steam-powered machinery, the Victorian era and the Wild West.  The first activity the students completed was to recreate Steampunk by experimenting with the sculptural materials.  The media tests worked so well we collated them into a small Steampunk mural to be displayed in the middle school.  As the Year 8 art students did a fabulous job on their media tests their skills should translate well to their Steampunk robot sculptures.  Watch this space!

The Year 8 Art students are halfway through their robot sculpture.  Their works in progress are quite interesting.
