Specialist Learning
Unlike many schools, JSR offers specialist learning in the primary school years, delivered by passionate educators with deep expertise in their fields. Providing this unique opportunity enriches each child’s experience, broadens their opportunities, and helps them discover and develop their individual interests, passions and talents from Kindy through to Year 12.
Subjects include: Languages (Chinese or Indonesian), Dance and Drama, Physical Education, Library and Digital Technologies, Music, Visual Arts and Religious Education
Student Wellbeing
At JSR, the emotional and physical wellbeing of our students is pivotal to their success at school and in their future lives. Physically and emotionally healthy students are happy, resilient, and experience a sense of belonging within the school and among their peers.
Through building a safe and engaging environment, we are able to support the behavioural, emotional, social, physical and academic wellbeing of our students. With the assistance of our Primary School Director of Pastoral Care, School Councillors/ Psychologists and Chaplaincy Team, students are supported throughout their primary school journey.
Leadership
At JSR, leadership begins from Year 2, with students stepping into roles as Year Group Councillors. By Year 6, students have the opportunity to serve as School, House and Chapel Captains.
Leadership in the Primary years is about inspiring others, leading with kindness and contributing to a positive, inclusive community. Students develop confidence, responsibility and a strong sense of service, learning that leadership can be shown in many ways, both with and without a badge.
Cocurricular
At JSR, we believe education is about more than academics, it’s about belonging, growth, and connection. Our vibrant community supports every child as they discover their strengths and passions.
Through our cocurricular programs, students can find a balance between their academic focus and their passion. We provide opportunities for involvement in sports, music, performances, competitions, and community initiatives, allowing each student to celebrate their individual interests and talents while developing a sense of teamwork and personal confidence.
